Happy New Years everyone!

A minor release today for Ant Invaders –



Changes:

  • Removed the constantly respawning armies.
  • Added the first building! It emits an Ant if there are enough resources. Resources are a fixed resource in this release; there’s no way to acquire more.
  • Killed the Green Army to require more player involvement in battling the other armies.

What do you think? The spawn-rates, damage, range of attack and everything else is just a parameter to the objects and will totally change in the future.

Here’s what’s coming up, in order:

  1. A new unit type.
  2. Army formations!
  3. Finer control of units / squadrons.
  4. Allowing the user to construct buildings.

I think I want this game to be like a realtime Risk. On the other hand, it is surprisingly easy to assemble the elements of an RTS engine in Flash… are there any RTS games in Flash, like Starcraft or Age of Empires?

Any suggestions or bug reports are welcomed.
