Actionscript Performance Testing

Ah, PerformanceTest, where have you been all my life? Want to measure the execution time of an algorithm you need to optimize so you have relevant data regarding your “improvements?” Well my friend, you want PerformanceTest.
To show you how easy it is, here’s one I just threw together to time my [...]

Unit movement around arbitrary polygons

Although it is totally unoptimized, the best path isn’t taken, and there are loads of quirks, the implementation needs polish, and it was harder than it should have been, but I present to you 40 ants dodging 4 arbitrary polygons!

Squadron Formations

Whew, late night but fun development. Who wants to see the new battalion formations?

Almost fun

What’s your angle?

And now there are waypoints! Hold down shift to create a path.
It took only an hour and a half to get here from the last release. My goal was to get two demos on this page, one using a Cartesian movement mechanism and another using vectors with bearings and so forth… but then [...]

Ant Invaders – Now with Red and Blue!

Another day, another release! This time a rival army is offered and the interface is simpler. There is little to do than move the army around, but it is kinda satisfying.
